Lily Phillips <\/a>went \u201cin to bat\u201d for Mia for the first three months of filming, completely alienating themselves from the rest of the cast (dubbed the \u2018agency girls\u2019). <\/p>\nMs Phillips even went so far as to throw a drink at co-star Quinn Everly to defend Ms Bailey\u2019s honour.<\/p>\n
But everything shattered during the cast\u2019s girls\u2019 trip when Ms Everly produced a bombshell voice recording of Ms Bailey talking behind Ms Knight\u2019s back.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat voice recording happened in November or December last year, and we started filming in February,\u201d Ms Knight said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI found out that she had said she thought it was weird that she was invited to my wedding, she thinks that I use [my fiance] Henry for media attention, and she said she would not come on the show if I was on the show.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy whole world sort of fell apart at that point because I didn\u2019t know what to believe or who to trust.\u201d<\/p>\n
This brought up past trauma of trust issues Ms Knight had, as it became \u201cobvious\u201d that Ms Bailey \u201clied\u201d to her.<\/p>\n

When confronted with the allegations, Ms Bailey admits watching the episode back was incredibly painful, especially seeing the emotional distress it caused Ms Knight. <\/p>\n
However, she stresses that the audio clip lacks the broader context of the night it was recorded.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat viewers saw relayed was a small snippet of a much longer private conversation that took place around six months before the girls\u2019 trip dinner,\u201d Ms Bailey told news.com.au. <\/p>\n
\u201cThat conversation lasted for hours and covered a range of topics \u2014 it wasn\u2019t a conversation about Annie. <\/p>\n
\u201cAnnie\u2019s name came up, and there were comments made by multiple people. <\/p>\n
\u201cUnfortunately, only a small part of that conversation, including only comments I made at the time, was relayed.\u201d<\/p>\n
She also explains her deer-in-the-headlights reaction on camera, revealing she genuinely had no memory of the conversation.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat made the situation so difficult for me was that I genuinely didn\u2019t remember making those comments, and I wasn\u2019t aware they had come from a recording that existed until it was revealed,\u201d Ms Bailey confessed. <\/p>\n
\u201cBy the time we were filming, months had passed, and Annie and I had naturally built an even closer friendship \u2026 So being confronted with comments I\u2019d made so long before, in front of everyone, left me feeling shocked, embarrassed and incredibly emotional.\u201d<\/p>\n
Despite the shock, Ms Bailey says she isn\u2019t looking to deflect blame. <\/p>\n
\u201cI take responsibility for the comments I made because, regardless of the context, I understand why they were hurtful,\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy focus now isn\u2019t on pointing fingers; it\u2019s on taking accountability for my own words.\u201d<\/p>\n
The off-camera ultimatum<\/p>\n
One major detail that didn\u2019t fully translate to the final edit was the sheer number of chances Ms Knight gave Ms Bailey to come clean before the secret leaked to the rest of the group. <\/p>\n
Ms Knight revealed she gave Ms Bailey at least seven distinct opportunities to tell the truth.<\/p>\n
\u201cI actually said to Mia \u2014 because there were allegations from Quinn that Mia had said s**t about me behind my back, and I didn\u2019t believe Quinn\u2014I gave Mia the opportunity probably seven times,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n
\u201cI messaged her or spoke to her in person and said, \u2018Mia, if you\u2019ve said anything bad about me, come clean now \u2026 I\u2019ll forgive you, but if I find out down the track that you\u2019ve said things and you haven\u2019t come clean, I won\u2019t be able to forgive you\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe had ample opportunity to come clean to me, and she didn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n
