{"id":809949,"date":"2026-07-19T09:57:09","date_gmt":"2026-07-19T09:57:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/809949\/"},"modified":"2026-07-19T09:57:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-19T09:57:09","slug":"will-leads-the-way-british-speedway-official-website","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/809949\/","title":{"rendered":"WILL LEADS THE WAY \u2013 British Speedway Official Website"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">POOLE blasted back into the top four of the Cab Direct Championship with a 51-39 win at Workington on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Pirates had ten of the first eleven race winners as they dominated at the GT Tyres Arena, recording four 5-1s in that period to open a 20-point advantage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Comets revival in the closing stages reduced the arrears somewhat, but the defending champions\u2019 display was still thoroughly convincing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">17-year-old Will Cairns led the way with 12 points, winning his first four outings and only being denied a maximum in Heat 15, whilst each of the seven visiting riders scored at least five points.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jonas Jeppesen scored 12 from six for the Comets, who slipped to a third home defeat of their league campaign.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Poole manager Gary Havelock said: \u201cI can assure you I am very proud of the Pirates tonight, from one through to seven. That performance was up there alongside the Glasgow one when we won the league title last year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhen you watch Will ride you aren\u2019t just watching a class Championship rider but a world-class rider, and I mean world-class. He was smooth, he was fast. Just poetry in motion. It was beautiful to watch and you can be forgiven for forgetting he\u2019s only seventeen years old.
