Veteran Australian actor Terence Donovan, best known for Division 4, Neighbours and Breaker Morant, has died, aged 90.<\/p>\n
Son Jason Donovan, with brother Paul, posted on social media, \u201cIt is with great sadness but also a sense of celebration of a long full life that myself and my brother Paul announce our father Terence died peacefully last night here in Melbourne.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur dad was a huge character, larger than life.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was our best friend \u2026 our world!<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will desperately miss him but we take comfort knowing we were all here by his side in his final days.<\/p>\n
\u201cObviously, this is an extremely emotional time, and we ask you [to] respect our privacy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Born in London, Donovan came to Australia with his parents when he was 14. Before acting, he worked as a house painter and a truck driver.<\/p>\n
Donovan was born in London in 1935 and moved to Australia with his family when he was 14 before becoming a star of the stage and screen.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
His big break came when he was offered the part of Detective Mick Peters on Division 4, on which he starred from 1969 to 1975.<\/p>\n
Through the \u201970s, \u201980s and beyond the roles were plentiful across Bellbird, Rush, Solo One, The Last of the Australians, Tandarra, Power without Glory, Prisoner, Sons and Daughters, A Country Practice, The Flying Doctors, Winner, E Street, Home and Away, Mission Impossible, Blue Heelers, MDA, House Husbands and 1990 to 1994 on Neighbours as Doug Willis for some 500 episodes.<\/p>\n
He starred in Aussie classics The Getting of Wisdom, Break Morant and The Man from Snowy River and performed in a long line of stage roles in West Side Story, The Club, Chicago, Peter Pan, Travelling North and more.<\/p>\n
