New Fenerbah\u00e7e<\/a> star Shane Larkin has spoken about the reasons behind his move from Anadolu Efes<\/a> in a teaser for the upcoming Off the Recourt program.<\/p>\n

Larkin stressed that his decision to join the Turkish champions had nothing to do with financial reasons.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was never about chasing money. If I wanted to, I could have gone somewhere else and made $10, $12, even $15 million. I could have bought my Ferrari and driven it to practice every day. I want to be remembered as one of the greatest ever\u2014actually, I want to be the greatest to ever do it. There were still a few things missing for me to achieve that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The experienced playmaker also expressed his disappointment with how his time at Anadolu Efes<\/a> unfolded.<\/p>\n

\u201cI respect everyone. I\u2019m a soldier. Whoever you give me, I\u2019ll go to war with them. But I was told I was going to be the No. 1 player on this team, and then suddenly the rug was pulled out from under me. I ended up falling flat on my face.\u201d<\/p>\n

Larkin also pointed to communication problems with the club\u2019s management and frustrations over roster planning.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou say, \u2018We can\u2019t lose this player,\u2019 and then you lose him. Then you say, \u2018We can\u2019t lose that player,\u2019 and you lose him too. Of course that\u2019s frustrating. You tell them \u2018A,\u2019 and they go and do \u2018B.\u2018\u201d<\/p>\n

The veteran guard added that the public perception surrounding his injuries during the final stage of his Efes<\/a> career also affected him deeply.<\/p>\n
