That\u2019s the official word from UFC big boss Dana White, who shared the news with the world following UFC Oklahoma City.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">We\u2019ve known something was terribly wrong with McGregor\u2019s knee from the moment he landed a wild jumping switch kick and his leg gave out on him seconds into the first round. A few more collapses and his fight with Holloway was waved off after just over a minute <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmamania.com\/ufc-329-mcgregor-vs-holloway-2\/456541\/highlights-conor-mcgregor-immediately-destroys-his-knee-after-five-years-on-the-sidelines-ufc-329\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">(watch the fiasco here).<\/a> What we didn\u2019t know was exactly what was wrong with the knee. Was it a meniscus tear? ACL or MCL? Would McGregor be out for six months or a year?<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">During the UFC Oklahoma City post-fight press conference, a member of the press asked if White had any update on the specifics of McGregor\u2019s injury.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">\u201cI don\u2019t know, do you know?\u201d White said, turning to Hunter Campbell off stage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">\u201cACL,\u201d Hunter responded. \u201cAnd there\u2019s another tear. There\u2019s two.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">\u201cACL,\u201d White repeated said grimly. \u201cHis knee\u2019s f&#8211;ked up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">White wasn\u2019t too eager to revisit the Conor McGregor drama from UFC 329 that left the fans who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmamania.com\/ufc-329-mcgregor-vs-holloway-2\/456113\/ufc-329-gate-record-breaking-25-million-return-conor-mcgregor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">payed over $25 million<\/a> to attend feeling ripped off.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">\u201cHe\u2019s having knee surgery. That\u2019s it,\u201d White said when asked about Conor. \u201cI mean, the Conor McGregor discussion isn\u2019t even worth talking about. He\u2019s got to have knee surgery. He\u2019s going to have to go through physical therapy. It\u2019s all going to take time. And then when the doctor says, \u2018You can start hardcore training again,\u2019 then we start talking about Conor McGregor again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">Top athletes in their prime can take nine months or a year to come back from an ACL tear. McGregor is 38 years old and apparently has TWO tears, which sounds pretty damn bad.
