The Voice Australia episode six recap \u2013 A night of big voices, emotional moments and playful coach rivalries defined the latest instalment of The Voice Australia.<\/p>\n
The sixth episode of The Voice Australia delivered a lively mix of powerhouse vocals, emotional backstories and some memorable on-stage moments as the Blind Auditions rolled on Tuesday night on Channel 7.<\/p>\n
Four new artists secured their place in the competition, with each performance sparking a different response from the coaches Melanie C, Richard Marx, Kate Miller-Heidke and Ronan Keating.<\/p>\n

Matthias Gault makes his mark<\/p>\n
The night opened with Matthias Gault, a 21-year-old from Perth, who has been immersed in music since childhood. Inspired by his grandfather, a jazz violinist, Gault has been fronting his own band, The Kickons, while also honing his piano skills. Taking on The Killers\u2019 anthem When You Were Young, he quickly had all four chairs turning.<\/p>\n
In a surprise twist, coach Melanie C played a video message from Coldplay\u2019s Chris Martin, encouraging Gault to join her team. Not to be outdone, Richard Marx revealed a personal text from Martin, received earlier that morning, wishing him luck on the show. Despite the tug-of-war, Gault ultimately chose to side with Melanie.<\/p>\n
The coaches were unanimous in their praise.<\/p>\n
Richard Marx: \u201cWhat a performance, what a way to blow our socks off.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kate Miller-Heidke: \u201cYou are really gifted.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Spice Girls duet for Lilli Vitagliano<\/p>\n
Next up was Lilli Vitagliano, 22, from Adelaide, who brought a personal touch with a rendition of Say You\u2019ll Be There by the Spice Girls. The performance took an unexpected turn when Melanie C herself stepped onto the stage to join in the chorus, creating one of the night\u2019s most memorable moments.<\/p>\n
With both Melanie and Ronan Keating turning their chairs, Vitagliano faced a choice. She ultimately opted for Melanie, who had not only joined her on stage but also commended her individuality.<\/p>\n
Melanie C: \u201cBeautiful song choice. And you made it your own.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ronan Keating: \u201cSome of the choices were interesting in the notes, and it wasn\u2019t the traditional melody of the song, but I can hear the tone in your voice and you\u2019ve got, you\u2019ve got vibe about you.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sharon-Rose Rateni shares her story<\/p>\n
The youngest performer of the night, Sharon-Rose Rateni, 19, from Melbourne, brought both a personal narrative and a silky vocal performance. Adopted as a baby after her mother, who had moved from Zimbabwe to study, gave birth, Rateni grew up in a large Italian family and developed a strong connection to dance.<\/p>\n

Her performance of Tyla\u2019s Water earned a single chair turn from Melanie C, who was drawn to her stage presence.<\/p>\n
Melanie C: \u201cYou had such a swag to it.\u201d<\/p>\n
With that, Rateni joined Team Melanie, adding another young artist to the group.<\/p>\n
A country moment for Ethan Calway<\/p>\n
Closing out the evening was Ethan Calway, 26, a carpenter from Warragul, Victoria, who performs in a local pub alongside his three brothers. Accompanied by his guitar, Calway delivered Marc Cohn\u2019s Walking in Memphis with a relaxed, soulful tone that struck a chord with all four coaches.<\/p>\n
This time, however, the decision was taken out of his hands. Richard Marx played his Ultimate Block, preventing the other coaches from pitching, and secured Calway for his team.<\/p>\n
Kate Miller-Heidke: \u201cWhat I loved about that was how effortless it was. And it\u2019s like the guitar and your voice is just an extension of you.\u201d<\/p>\n
Richard Marx: \u201cYou\u2019ve got that Luke Combs thing. You\u2019ve got the key thing. You can probably sing any kind of country.\u201d<\/p>\n
Melanie C: \u201cI really enjoyed that performance. I just felt like I\u2019m quite chilled now. You\u2019ve really put me at ease, which is such a lovely place to be.\u201d<\/p>\n
A night of strong recruits<\/p>\n
By the end of the episode, Melanie C had added three new members to her team, while Richard Marx picked up a key player in Calway. With the Blind Auditions nearing their final stages, competition between the coaches is intensifying, with each vying for distinctive voices to shape their teams.<\/p>\n
