{"id":811110,"date":"2026-07-19T23:33:21","date_gmt":"2026-07-19T23:33:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/811110\/"},"modified":"2026-07-19T23:33:21","modified_gmt":"2026-07-19T23:33:21","slug":"cardinals-executive-ryan-golds-lawyer-says-gambling-accusations-are-blatantly-false","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/811110\/","title":{"rendered":"Cardinals executive Ryan Gold&#8217;s lawyer says gambling accusations are &#8220;blatantly false&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Friday, the NFL announced that Cardinals director of college scouting Ryan Gold has been <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/profootballtalk\/rumor-mill\/news\/nfl-suspends-cardinals-executive-ryan-gold-indefinitely-for-gambling-violation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">suspended indefinitely<\/a> for violating the league\u2019s gambling policy.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, Gold\u2019s lawyer issued a statement denying the allegations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRyan Gold has been an outstanding NFL executive for over a decade,\u201d attorney Mike Caspino said. \u201cThe accusations made by the league, regarding his participation in prohibited gambling activities, are blatantly false. We have demanded an appeal and we look forward to clearing his good name.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The league has accused Gold of providing inside information regarding the Cardinals\u2019 draft selections before the picks were announced, and of participating in parlay bets on NFL and college games.<\/p>\n<p>Gold shouldn\u2019t expect any support from the Cardinals. The team said Friday that it \u201c<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/profootballtalk\/rumor-mill\/news\/cardinals-release-statement-about-executive-ryan-golds-suspension\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">fully support[s]<\/a>\u201d the league\u2019s decision.
