A truck driver has been reported over a multi-car crash in which concrete slabs fell onto the North-South Motorway, in Adelaide’s north.<\/p>\n
SA Police said the incident occurred when vehicles were merging into the southbound lane in front of “a truck laden with concrete slabs” just after 10:30am on Friday, July 10.<\/p>\n
Footage previously released by SA Police shows the truck losing its load, near Bolivar.<\/p>\n
In a statement, police said the truck lost two 15-tonne concrete segments, which they alleged fell into the roadway and collided with three cars parked on the side of the road.<\/p>\n
“Two pedestrians were standing next to a broken-down vehicle on the shoulder of the road and were struck by the parked cars,” police said.<\/p>\n
“One of the pedestrians was taken to hospital by ambulance with a suspected broken arm.”<\/p>\n
Another two people sustained minor injuries, police said.<\/p>\n
They reported a 38-year-old man from Para Hills West for causing harm by dangerous driving, using a mobile phone while driving, failing to wear a seatbelt and a severe risk load restraint breach.<\/p>\n
The man was also issued with a 12-month immediate loss of licence.<\/p>\n
