{"id":812522,"date":"2026-07-20T16:07:20","date_gmt":"2026-07-20T16:07:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/812522\/"},"modified":"2026-07-20T16:07:20","modified_gmt":"2026-07-20T16:07:20","slug":"bobby-hill-in-talks-to-exit-collingwood-amid-personal-issues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/812522\/","title":{"rendered":"Bobby Hill in talks to exit Collingwood amid personal issues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Collingwood small forward Bobby Hill\u2019s career at the Pies is nearing its end.<\/p>\n<p>CODE Sports has confirmed that talks have begun between the Norm Smith medallist\u2019s management and the club to exit the Magpies with conversation surrounding whether contract &#8211; which runs until the end of 2030 &#8211; is ceased. <\/p>\n<p>Hill, 26, has not played since August last year and <a class=\"body-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldsun.com.au\/afl\/bobby-hill-makes-return-to-collingwood-training-as-he-looks-to-reignite-his-career\/news-story\/c75c0018330c6f8b6ad9b4a7e0b36ad5\" data-tgev=\"event119\" data-tgev-container=\"bodylink\" data-tgev-order=\"c75c0018330c6f8b6ad9b4a7e0b36ad5\" data-tgev-label=\"afl\" data-tgev-metric=\"ev\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">has since been allowed periods of leave by the club as he dealt with ongoing personal issues. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>The deal was estimated to be worth in the realm of $750,000 per year. <\/p>\n<p>Collingwood coach Craig McRae said last month that Hill was \u201cbattling, truthfully, battling\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s got a bit going on, Bobby, let\u2019s be really clear, he\u2019s got a lot going on and he\u2019s a work in progress,\u201d McRae said, with the club having publicly supported Hill throughout the last 12 months <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut it\u2019s nice to have him here (at training)\u2026 I think he\u2019s a long way away from playing footy at the moment, we\u2019re conscious of that.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAgain, when he\u2019s in our building at least we get some opportunities to make him feel loved and appreciated.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Collingwood small forward Bobby Hill\u2019s career at the Pies is nearing its end.
