The World Cup halftime show was stacked with A-list performers including Justin Bieber and Madonna, who were, apparently, feuding behind the scenes? Before we get into this baffling report, a quick look at their performances\u2014which were very different. Madonna brought dancers and spectacle:<\/p>\n

While Bieber kept things pared back and simple:<\/p>\n

And the different vibes were allegedly an issue. Per a Daily Mail<\/a> source who spoke out ahead of the show, “Neither wants to walk away feeling like they played second fiddle. Their different approaches have created real tension behind the scenes.”<\/p>\n

The insider added that Bieber’s “mindset is simple. Don’t overcomplicate it, don’t take unnecessary risks, and absolutely don’t have a performance that becomes a story for all the wrong reasons. He wants this to be about the music. Clean, controlled, no distractions.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Madonna thinks “a stage this massive calls for something people will be talking about for years. In her mind, a World Cup Final performance should be unforgettable\u2014not safe. Madonna has no intention of being upstaged. She respects Justin and wants the show to be a massive success, but she won’t let it become ‘The Justin Show.’ If she feels he’s steering things in a direction that’s too safe, she won’t be\u2014and hasn’t been\u2014shy about pushing back.”<\/p>\n

Obviously, they both ended up doing a great job; neither of them upstaged the other, and let’s be honest: everyone was mostly there for the game! Other than those of us who were there for the celeb sightings, of course.<\/p>\n
