Essendon young gun Nate Caddy is in “great spirits” after being cleared and discharged from the hospital on Sunday night.Caddy was taken to the hospital with an elevated heart rate during the Bombers’ breakthrough win over GWS at Marvel Stadium.

Essendon general manager Dan McPherson confirmed positive news for the emerging star on Monday.

“There was some concern in the first quarter when Nate’s heart rate became elevated,” McPherson said.

“He was removed from the game, and our medical team assessed him at the ground before sending him to hospital for further assessment.

“He was discharged last night and is back at home. He is expected to be able to train and play without concern this week.”

Essendon outworked the Giants to leap off the bottom of the ladder and issue caretaker coach Dean Solomon his first win.

Dyson Sharp – who was awarded the Round 19 Rising Star nominee – said Caddy was rapt to see Essendon get over GWS.

“Yeah it’s obviously a tricky one with an elevated heart rate,” Sharp said.

“But he’s out of the hospital now (and) in great spirits as well, happy that the boys got over the line.

“No doubt everyone has reached out to him to make sure everything is alright.

“We’ll get around him tomorrow at training.”

Sharp was one of the keys to Essendon’s victory, applying two bone-crunching tackles late in the match.

Essendon young gun Nate Caddy is in “great spirits” after being cleared and discharged from the hospital on…

[560
387922,387910,387899,387904,638,231397,387905,387900,64,63,55,639,21452,241769,387916,22710,3028,387917,387903,387924,387912,387911,387898,22718,387908,387897,387915,191,4082,387918,107961,16691,387921,13052,193128,43961,387913,387896,14412,18371,385298,85,8825,387901,387914,387923,23275,387909,387902,74713,48148,387920,377511,381735,378227,387919,87494,380148,387906,199184,7570,1542,387907
post-812975","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-afl","tag-s-heart-rate","tag-s-victory","tag-a-heart-related-scare","tag-a-tricky-one","tag-afl","tag-afl-2026","tag-an-elevated-heart-rate","tag-any-concerns","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-australian-football-league","tag-australianfootballleague","tag-bombers","tag-breakthrough-win","tag-caddy","tag-concern","tag-essendon","tag-essendon-fans","tag-essendon-general-manager-dan-mcpherson","tag-essendon-star-nate-caddy","tag-essendon-young-gun-nate-caddy","tag-further-assessment","tag-great-spirits","tag-gws","tag-heart-rate-scare","tag-his-first-win-dyson-sharp","tag-his-heart-rate-scare","tag-home","tag-hospital","tag-its-emerging-star","tag-last-night","tag-marvel-stadium","tag-mcpherson","tag-monday","tag-nate","tag-newswire-sport","tag-no-doubt-everyone","tag-our-medical-team","tag-positive-news","tag-sharp","tag-some-concern","tag-sports","tag-sunday","tag-sunday-night-caddy","tag-the-bombers","tag-the-bottom","tag-the-boys","tag-the-emerging-star","tag-the-first-quarter","tag-the-game","tag-the-giants","tag-the-good-news","tag-the-ground","tag-the-hospital","tag-the-keys","tag-the-ladder-and-issue-caretaker-coach-dean-solomon","tag-the-line","tag-the-match","tag-the-round-19-rising-star-nominee","tag-this-week","tag-tomorrow","tag-training","tag-two-bone-crunching-tackles
["GET
