{"id":813365,"date":"2026-07-21T01:27:09","date_gmt":"2026-07-21T01:27:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/813365\/"},"modified":"2026-07-21T01:27:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-21T01:27:09","slug":"more-espn-nfl-network-layoffs-are-coming-tuesday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/813365\/","title":{"rendered":"More ESPN, NFL Network layoffs are coming Tuesday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ESPN\u2019s <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/profootballtalk\/rumor-mill\/news\/ryan-clark-was-informed-of-his-firing-during-mondays-nfl-live\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">clunky, on-air termination<\/a> of NFL analyst Ryan Clark was just the beginning.<\/p>\n<p>Via Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, ESPN and NFL Network are <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/7459503\/2026\/07\/20\/ryan-clark-espn-layoff\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">expected to have more layoffs<\/a> on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s an unavoidable consequence of ESPN absorbing NFL Network. Tasks are necessarily duplicated. Now that the dust has settled on ESPN\u2019s April 1 acquisition of NFL Network and other NFL Media assets (with the NFL securing a 10-percent stake in ESPN), Disney is about to kick up some fresh dust by issuing pink slips.<\/p>\n<p>Expect more names to surface sooner than later. (We\u2019ve already caught wind of one recognizable name.) <\/p>\n<p>While unfortunate, business is business. The company is always going to do what\u2019s right for it.
