The former two-division world champ, who challenges Australia\u2019s Liam Wilson in Sydney this weekend<\/a> in a world title eliminator, has even revealed he has spent around $1.5 million ($2.1m AUD) building his wardrobe over the years, while one custom fight outfit alone cost upwards of $35,000.<\/p>\n It\u2019s a hefty investment, but for Fulton, fashion is more than expensive clobber — it\u2019s about expressing exactly who he is.<\/p>\n Speaking on All The Smoke Fight <\/a>earlier this year, the Philadelphia fighter explained that clothing has become one of his biggest passions outside boxing.<\/p>\n \u201cI take my everyday lifestyle into the ring with me,\u201d he smiled.<\/p>\n \u201cI just like to get fly. <\/p>\n \u201cMe bringing that swagness into the ring is organic.\u201d<\/p>\n The 32-year-old has become known for working with some big fashion names, including celebrity footwear designer The Shoe Surgeon, while also drawing inspiration from luxury labels like Maison Margiela.<\/p>\n Last year, Fulton generated headlines worldwide after walking to the ring in a custom outfit inspired by Philly street culture, complete with oversized denim shorts and Timberland-style boots.<\/p>\n While not everyone was a fan, Fulton said it was about representing home.<\/p>\n \u201cI said, \u2018What can people actually relate more to? And it was the Carhartt, the Timberlands and the jean shorts. And it just came off so authentic,\u201d he told the Philadelphia Inquirer.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cI was like \u2018This is like an everyday fit. This is what we wear on the outside on a daily basis.\u2019 \u2026 It was like a cultural moment.\u201d<\/p>\n It was hardly the first time Fulton had blurred the lines between boxing and fashion, either.<\/p>\n When asked recently on the Ring Champs podcast <\/a>about his favourite outfit, he said it was what he wore in his previous fight against Carlos Castro<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Margiela outfit,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n \u201cI was Margiela from head to toe\u2026\u201d <\/p>\n When asked how much it all cost, he grinned.<\/p>\n \u201cI dunno, maybe $35-40,000.\u201d<\/p>\n Stephen Fulton’s favourite fight look… and it didn\u2019t come cheapSource: FOX SPORTS<\/p>\n The American has also revealed he hopes to build a fortune of around $17 million before retiring from boxing, with ambitions beyond the sport that include various business ventures.<\/p>\n But that hasn\u2019t stopped him splashing out on fashion.<\/p>\n Asked how much he\u2019d spent on clothes over the years, Fulton paused for a few moments before replying.<\/p>\n \u201cIt could be more, but I\u2019m going to say about $1.5 million.\u201d<\/p>\n He then revealed he has \u201ctwo or three rooms\u201d filled with clothes.<\/p>\n It also explained why a burglary at his Philadelphia home proved so devastating. <\/p>\n Fulton revealed he was away from home when thieves broke into his house, forcing him to watch the ordeal unfold live through his security cameras.<\/p>\n Unable to do anything, the former world champion said all he could do was watch as an intruder moved through his home, stealing thousands of dollars in gear.<\/p>\n \u201cThey took a 20 thousand dollar Channel bookbag,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n \u201cI got an alert on my phone \u2018back door open\u2019 so I went on my camera system and watched somebody go in there\u2026<\/p>\n \u201cI even got them running out the house, I was talking to them through the Ring camera.\u201d<\/p>\n READ MORE<\/p>\n EXCLUSIVE: US great\u2019s shock offer to join Tszyu card after visa drama<\/a><\/p>\n
