Stephen Curry will become the first active NBA player to ever have an exhibit in his honor at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame when it unveils the immersive “Stephen Curry: Beyond the Arc.”

“Being part of the Basketball Hall of Fame in this way is hard to put into words,” Curry said in a press release. “When I think about my journey, I think about the people who believed in me, the work that happened when nobody was watching and the moments that shaped me on and off the court. To have that story told while I’m still playing is something I don’t take lightly. My hope is that fans walk through this experience and feel the joy, the purpose and the gratitude that basketball has given me, and maybe see a little bit of their own journey in it too.”

Per that press release, Curry’s exhibit will include “exclusive memorabilia (rare game-worn gear, championship artifacts, and Olympic ephemera), rare footage (archival video tracing his journey from an overlooked college prospect to a global superstar) and first-hand storytelling (immersive audio and video components that capture the emotion and heart of a true champion).”

Curry, 38, will undoubtedly be a first-ballot Hall of Famer once he retires and is eligible, so a plaque will follow this exhibit down the line. The 12-time All-Star and 11-time All-NBA selection’s list of achievements includes four titles, two MVPs, two scoring titles and a place on the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team.

He’s the greatest shooter of all time and one of the true icons of his era, joining LeBron James in that regard. There’s an argument to be made that Curry’s proficiency from three and the general style of his Warriors in general played a massive role in the league’s shift to a more three-point heavy shot selection.

So if anybody was going to be the first active player with an exhibit at the Basketball Hall of Fame, Curry was a worthy choice.

“I could not think of anyone more fitting of this incredible honor than Stephen Curry,” Golden State Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy said in the press release. “For him to become the first active player to have an exhibit in the Basketball Hall of Fame is a testament to what he represents to the game, to the Warriors, to the NBA and to his millions of fans around the world. Obviously, this is only a prelude to his eventual induction in Springfield, but a fitting tribute to an iconic player and an amazing human being who has singlehandedly changed the game.”

[574
64,63,726,85
post-815204","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-basketball","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-basketball","tag-sports
["GET
