We\u2019ve all been there, but one of Australia\u2019s favourite retailers has a found a nifty solution to help shoppers navigate their aisles with ease.<\/p>\n

Kmart is unveiling its newly revamped store concept, putting its most popular items like womenswear, beauty, and homewares right at the forefront in organised trend categories.<\/p>\n
The new store layout is all about making your next Kmart run simpler, faster, and much more seamless.<\/p>\n
Womenswear is getting an \u201coutfit-led\u201d approach similar to a traditional fashion boutique, meaning you won\u2019t have to endlessly scour the racks to put together a look.<\/p>\n
Instead, shoppers will see mannequins styled with coveted items and complete outfits to make discovering new trends easier than ever before.<\/p>\n
The makeover also includes larger, more intuitive departments with wider shelving areas so products remain easily visible.<\/p>\n
Ben Smith, General Manager of Property at Kmart Group, said the rollout is all about delivering exactly what shoppers actually want.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur customers continue to tell us they want shopping experiences that are simple, convenient and enjoyable,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cImportantly, these investments help us continue delivering the great value, quality and a shopping experience that our customers expect from Kmart.\u201d <\/p>\n
You can also expect to get in and out much faster with a streamlined Click & Collect station, expanded self-check-outs to slash queue times, and a simplified front-of-store entry.<\/p>\n
Behind-the-scenes tech upgrades mean staff can operate more efficiently, allowing them to spend less time managing stock and more time helping customers.<\/p>\n
The upgraded store concept has already been rolled out to 20 locations across Australia, with the retailer expecting to expand the format to 40 stores by mid-2027.<\/p>\n
Physical stores for the win<\/p>\n
While many retail outlets are migrating online to dodge overhead costs, Kmart is confidently moving in the opposite direction by leaning into the value of in-person shopping.<\/p>\n
The retail giant recently unveiling its \u2018K home\u2019 warehouse in Victoria, a massive space focusing exclusively on furniture and homewares.<\/p>\n
Many shoppers are already likening the sprawling 3,000-square-metre facility to an Ikea showroom.<\/p>\n
It features a curated home living space that allows customers to browse and discover large items in-store that were previously only available online.<\/p>\n
The K home concept is currently in a trial phase before the retailer decides whether to roll the new format out nationally.<\/p>\n
Kmart\u2019s Chief Commercial Officer, Callum Smith, noted that the new warehouse format is significantly more immersive than a traditional store.<\/p>\n
\u201cCustomers have embraced Kmart\u2019s home range for many years, and we\u2019ve continued to grow our furniture offer as customer demand has grown,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
