Klay Thompson is under contract with the Dallas Mavericks, but as the LeBron James sweepstakes have the entire basketball world on hold, it\u2019s not out of the question that a reunion with the Golden State Warriors, who drafted him No. 11 overall in the 2009 NBA draft out of Washington State, and with which he won four NBA championships, could be interested in his services again, especially if they miss out on signing LeBron.<\/p>\n
Thompson posted a career-low 11.7 points per game for the Mavs last season, playing alongside star rookie Cooper Flagg and a younger roster.<\/p>\n
Jaylen Wells | SG\/SF | Memphis Grizzlies <\/p>\n
Jaylen Wells underwent surgery on his right large toe back in March, which cut his second NBA season short.<\/p>\n
The Grizzlies traded Ja Morant to Portland and drafted Cameron Boozer with the No. 3 overall pick. With the team undergoing a rebuild, Wells will have the chance to earn a larger role after averaging 12.5 points and 3.2 rebounds per game during his sophomore season this past year.<\/p>\n
Mouhamed Gueye | PF | Atlanta Hawks <\/p>\n
Mouhamed Gueye, a star on a couple of former WSU coach Kyle Smith\u2019s rosters, broke his foot during a July 8 workout and will miss the start of the NBA season, the Atlanta Hawks announced last week.<\/p>\n
Efe Abogidi | F | Denver Nuggets <\/p>\n
Efe Abogidi was on the Nuggets\u2019 Summer League roster and poured 11 points and four rebounds into Denver\u2019s 96-89 consolation win over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Abogidi, a Coug from 2020-22, has hopped around several different NBA G-League squads over the past several years. While he has not logged an NBA minute yet, his professional basketball career continues.<\/p>\n
Charlisse Leger-Walker | G | Connecticut suns <\/p>\n
Charlisse Leger-Walker spent her undergrad years about 350 miles east of Seattle\u2019s Climate Pledge Arena, but the former WSU women\u2019s basketball star looked right at home in that venue on May 20.<\/p>\n
It was on that day that Leger-Walker, who this past April was crowned a national champion with UCLA before becoming one of six Bruins selected in the WNBA draft, turned in the finest performance of her young professional career, with 16 points, two rebounds, three assists and a steal in the Conneticut Sun\u2019s 80-78 victory over the Storm.<\/p>\n
Leger-Walker took more than double the number of shots she had taken in any single game up to that point in the season and while she was 6-of-15 from the floor, every one of her points mattered, especially with about a minute and 50 seconds left in the game and her team holding a one point lead.<\/p>\n
The former Coug drove the ball straight up the lane, bouncing off a Storm defender until she was close enough to get two hands on the ball and launch a fadeaway to extend the Suns\u2019 lead to three.<\/p>\n
Leger-Walker is averaging 6.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game in her rookie season. These modest, yet productive numbers reflect an increase in playing time from 13-20 minutes per game to 25-30-plus over the course of the season.<\/p>\n
