\n\tHan Chae Young<\/a>, the actor behind some of K-drama\u2019s most recognized titles, has scored a hit with \u201cRaising His Mistress\u2019s Child,\u201d a Korean-language remake of a global microdrama that generated more than $15 million in revenue. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe series premiered July 10 on mobile-first platform FlareFlow<\/a> and has already cleared 10 million cumulative views.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe original production of \u201cRaising His Mistress\u2019s Child\u201d drew some 4.8 million viewers and logged more than 513,700 completed viewers \u2013 figures that prompted COL Group\u2019s international platform to commission a localized version aimed at Korean audiences.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe remake follows a woman whose survival of a difficult childbirth is compounded by the discovery that the baby placed in her arms belongs to her husband\u2019s mistress, while her own newborn has been taken away. She sets out to reclaim her child and hold those responsible to account.<\/p>\n

\n\tEarly engagement metrics have been notable. The Korean adaptation recorded an 84.4% first-episode retention rate and a 67.6% second-episode retention rate.<\/p>\n

\n\tHan Chae Young is best known for her roles in \u201cBoys Over Flowers\u201d and \u201cAutumn in My Heart.\u201d Her casting follows a wider shift across the region, with established film and television talent moving into mobile-first productions as the microdrama format draws larger audiences and higher production investment.<\/p>\n

\n\tTimothy Oh, general manager of COL Group International and chief marketing officer at FlareFlow, said: \u201cMicrodrama has evolved far beyond short-form entertainment. Today, audiences expect premium storytelling, cinematic production quality and performances from actors they know and love. Han Chae Young\u2019s decision to headline the Korean version of \u2018Raising His Mistress\u2019s Child\u2019 reflects how far the industry has come. Mainstream television stars increasingly recognize microdramas<\/a> as a premium storytelling format capable of reaching millions of deeply engaged viewers. This marks the beginning of a new era, where the biggest stories, the best talent, and the most compelling entertainment experiences are increasingly being created for the vertical screen.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFlareFlow, which has released approximately 5,200 series on its platform, operates in 14 languages and counts 33 million registered users across more than 200 countries and regions.
