The Slovenian takes over Barca after Xavi Pascual left for Dubai Basketball<\/a>, where Sekulic coached at the end of last season.<\/p>\n

Marc del Rio of SPORT<\/a> was first to report that Sekulic is set to take over Barcelona, who\u00a0has been coaching the Slovenian national team since 2020.<\/p>\n

So far, nine players have left Barca, and a little less than a week ago, they were one of only three clubs left without any official signings.<\/p>\n

They bid farewell to star wing Will Clyburn<\/a> and captain Tomas Satoransky<\/a>, while also saying goodbye to Jan Vesely, who retired at the end of last season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It was expected that the front office would make changes after failing to make the EuroLeague playoffs for the first time in eight seasons, but so far it seems they have taken another step back on their roster rather than the multiple steps forward needed to get back into championship contention.<\/p>\n
