(Photo by Buda Mendes\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p><\/a>              &#13;<\/p>\n<p>Inter\u2019s search for an heir to Denzel Dumfries is set to continue, as reports in Italy indicate that the Nerazzurri will not be following through with a deal for Tottenham Hotspur and England defender Djed Spence.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Spence unlikely for Inter at \u20ac47m<\/p>\n<p>The 25-year-old former Genoa loanee impressed with his performances at the 2026 World Cup under Thomas Tuchel and had emerged as <a href=\"https:\/\/football-italia.net\/inter-go-strong-spurs-spence-stones-perisic\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a potential transfer option for Inter this summer<\/a>. The Nerazzurri are still in need of a new right wing-back to replace Dumfries, whose release clause was activated by Real Madrid earlier this summer.<\/p>\n<p>However, according to Sport Mediaset\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/OAccomando91\/status\/2079871453957173520\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Orazio Accomando<\/a>, Inter have decided against proceeding with a deal for Spence for the time being at least.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday\u2019s update claims that Tottenham are seeking a fee in the region of \u20ac47m (\u00a340m) for the Englishman this summer, which is expected to be too much for Inter if they are to bring in several new recruits during the off-season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/everton-v-tottenham-hotspur-prem.jpg\" class=\"lazyload lazyload wp-image-946035 has-webp size-full\" alt=\"LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND - OCTOBER 26: Djed Spence of Tottenham Hotspur during the Premier League match between Everton and Tottenham Hotspur at Hill Dickinson Stadium on October 26, 2025 in Liverpool, England. Italy talent Marco Palestra was the priority target at the beginning of the window, but a \u20ac60m offer from Premier League side Chelsea ruled out any possibility of a move to San Siro.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Inter had also agreed a deal with Union Saint-Gilloise for right winger Anan Khalaili, but this deal collapsed due to concerns surrounding the player\u2019s medical.
