Major League Baseball\u2019s Field of Dreams game \u2014 set amid the cornfields of Iowa where Kevin Costner\u2019s famed movie baseball field originated \u2014 will be available to watch live on Netflix in mid-August.<\/p>\n
Field of Dreams, of course, follows the fantastical plight of Costner\u2019s<\/a> Ray Kinsella, who risks losing his Iowa farm by plowing under a portion of his cornfield by listening to voices in his head to construct a diamond for ghosts of baseball\u2019s legends of the past to play on. <\/p>\n Forbes\u2018Masters Of The Universe\u2019 Prime Video Streaming Release This Week Follows Amazon MGM SVOD StrategyBy Tim Lammers<\/a><\/p>\n Released in 1989, Field of Dreams<\/a> \u2014 which also starred Amy Madigan, Ray Liotta and James Earl Jones \u2014 was not only a theatrical hit and earned three Oscar nominations including Best Picture. Most importantly film\u2019s legacy lived on as the ballfield used in the movie remained intact and has become a worldwide tourist destination.<\/p>\n Realizing the film\u2019s vast contribution to professional baseball lore, MLB constructed its own temporary Field of Dreams in 2021 in the cornfields of Dyersville, which sits adjacent to the movie version of the field. Since then, the iconic site has undergone a major renovation and expansion.<\/p>\n MLB\u2019s Field of Dreams is returning for its third game on Thursday, Aug. 13, when the Minnesota Twins take on the Philadelphia Phillies. On Wednesday, Netflix announced its August 2026 schedule and noted that it will be livestreaming the game on the platform. According to Netflix, pre-game programming will start at 6:30 p.m. ET\/3:30 p.m. PT, and the game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. ET\/4:30 p.m. PT.<\/p>\n Forbes’Field Of Dreams’ Director On The Hollywood Classic Turning 30By Simon Thompson<\/a>The Return Of The \u2018Field Of Dreams\u2019 Game Was Announced Last November<\/p>\n The third in what will become an annual game at the newly renovated and expanded<\/a> Field of Dreams facility was announced by MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred in November 2025.<\/p>\n \u201cIowa is thrilled to welcome MLB and its players back to the iconic Field of Dreams and a new permanent stadium for one of America’s favorite baseball traditions,\u201d Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds said in a statement on MLB<\/a> that accompanied Manfred\u2019s announcement.<\/p>\n While the facility has been renovated and expanded, the cornfields remain a part of the Field of Dreams attraction.<\/p>\n
