The tires were also missing hubcaps, and the front passenger side door was left open.<\/p>\n
As Page Six previously reported, the deaf actress\u2019 dad, Joshua Hottle, shared the tragedy with TMZ on Tuesday after posting a tearful Facebook livestream.<\/p>\n
He explained in ASL that while he was in Texas, he got a call from Maryland authorities about the collision, and later received a follow-up call stating his daughter\u2019s heart had stopped en route to the hospital.<\/p>\n
He told TMZ he was flying to Maryland to claim the teenager\u2019s body.<\/p>\n
Kaylee\u2019s mother, Ketsi Hottle, also shared a devastating tribute after her daughter\u2019s death, calling it a \u201cprivilege to be\u201d the 18-year-old\u2019s mum in the caption of a tearful Instagram video Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Page Six later confirmed that Kaylee died after the driver of the car she was in \u201cswerved off the road and hit a ditch\u201d at 3am on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Per police, a 19-year-old was operating a 1995 Honda Accord when the vehicle \u201ctravelled off the right side of the two-lane roadway and struck a culvert.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cExcessive speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the collision,\u201d the police statement continued.<\/p>\n
The driver was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Kaylee was taken to a local trauma centre and later pronounced dead. <\/p>\n
Kaylee was born in Georgia but grew up in Austin, attending the Texas School for the Deaf before starting her career in acting when she was 9.<\/p>\n
Her breakout role was as Jia in the 2021 Adam Wingard-directed film Godzilla vs. Kong alongside Rebecca Hall as Dr. Ilene Andrews.<\/p>\n
She also returned for the 2021 sequel, Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire.<\/p>\n
Kaylee\u2019s Godzilla vs. Kong co-star Millie Bobby Brown shared she is \u201cdevastated\u201d over the young star\u2019s passing.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou will be deeply missed Kaylee,\u201d Brown wrote alongside a black-and-white photo of Kaylee in the 2021 film.<\/p>\n
