Already a regular season event in New Orleans was cancelled due to the weather and course conditions, while another event in Indianapolis was reportedly under threat as well.<\/p>\n
Former world No.1 Martin Kaymer, who leads the Cleeks GC team, told Today\u2019s Golfer it was \u201chighly unlikely\u201d the Teams Championship would be held.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were hoping for a bit more information,\u201d Kaymer said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI mean, we got the information, but we were more looking for decisions or what was happening next year. And unfortunately, even Scott (LIV boss Scott O\u2019Neil), he can\u2019t tell us because he doesn\u2019t know. It depends so much on the investors. Hopefully, I think there\u2019s a lot of interest and it\u2019s looking good.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut we\u2019ve all been there. If the signature is not there, then it doesn\u2019t mean anything.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know that Indianapolis most likely is happening.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere was a conversation yesterday. Michigan, highly unlikely. So basically, what we already knew. That\u2019s why I think it became a captains\u2019 meeting and not a players\u2019 meeting, because they couldn\u2019t give us much more than we had before.\u201d<\/p>\n
Problematically for the Michigan event, infrastructure is yet to be built on the course.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, we are disappointed,\u201d Kaymer said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI heard yesterday, actually, on the Golf Channel that there were talks that Indianapolis could become a team event instead of Michigan. That we don\u2019t know. I think that would be a shame that we get reduced even more individual tournaments.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn the other hand, how do you want to have a team winning the whole season if you don\u2019t have a team event? We need to be honest. The whole season was a bit of a\u2026 there was so much happening. Yeah. Cancelled New Orleans. Cancelled most likely the last event. So I think it\u2019s important to just finish the season and hopefully we\u2019ll have a plan for 2027.\u201d<\/p>\n
