{"id":819248,"date":"2026-07-23T18:54:09","date_gmt":"2026-07-23T18:54:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/819248\/"},"modified":"2026-07-23T18:54:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-23T18:54:09","slug":"tyson-fury-vs-mariusz-wach-briton-lighter-than-an-opponent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/819248\/","title":{"rendered":"Tyson Fury vs Mariusz Wach: Briton lighter than an opponent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Tyson Fury was lighter than his opponent at the weigh-in for the first time in 15 years as he prepares to fight Mariusz Wach in Thailand on Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The Briton tipped the scales at 18st 13lb (120kg) &#8211; 26lb less than veteran Wach&#8217;s 20st 11lb (132kg) &#8211; before the heavyweight bout.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Fury, 37, will fight the 46-year-old in Pattaya in front of about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/sport\/boxing\/articles\/crk50jm7254o\" class=\"ssrcss-18834jl-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">1,500 fans and without a television broadcaster<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;I&#8217;m Mr Slim now. I&#8217;m delighted to be here and there are fans here from all over the world,&#8221; Fury said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">It is only the fourth time in Fury&#8217;s professional career he has weighed less than his opponent.
