<\/p>\n\u201cCall of Duty\u201d fans have been waiting with bated breath for news as part of Gamescom 2025, currently taking place in Germany and broadcasting gaming news to the world. As a part of Opening Night Live, the next entry to the long-running series, \u201cCall of Duty: Black Ops 7,\u201d finally shared a gameplay reveal trailer and release date of November 14.<\/p>\n
Focusing on the story campaign \u2014 which can be played in co-op with up to four players \u2014 the trailer revealed that the game is indeed picking up threads from 2012\u2019s \u201cBlack Ops 2,\u201d while acting as a narrative sequel to the previous release, \u201cBlack Ops 6.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Returning to the role of main protagonist is David Mason, son of Alex Mason, who in 2035 is once again facing off against franchise antagonist Raul Menendez, and a much more powerful return of The Guild, last seen as a crime syndicate in \u201cBlack Ops 6,\u201d now a global tech giant with armies and gun-toting robots to boot.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s a return to a futuristic setting for the series, but with the same mindbending campaign missions of \u201cCold War\u201d and \u201cBlack Ops 6\u201d \u2014 with twisting hallways, floating islands and giant knives falling from the sky while a trailer soundtrack of Metallica\u2019s \u201cMaster of Puppets\u201d sets the subconscious stage.<\/p>\n
Also featured is a look at the next level of the fast-paced \u2018omnimovement\u2019 that the Black Ops series has come to hero, with Mason and co using jetpack-esque super jumps, crouch sliding, wall jumps and grappling hooks to evade bad guys and killer robots in settings like Nicaragua, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Alaska and the fictional crime syndicate city of Avalon.<\/p>\n

Think 16 new maps at launch, global progression across all modes, the return of ground war-esque 20-player maps, round-based zombies and more.<\/p>\n It seems that Activision is pulling out some new stops, but mostly just a fresh coat of paint for many returning features from \u201cBlack Ops 6.\u201d Worth considering, though, is the renewed competition from rival series \u201cBattlefield\u201d and its extremely anticipated release<\/a> just a month prior on October 10.
