\u201cThere was speculation that some teams may have been trying to modify parts or achieve geometries that the front suspension was never designed for,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOver two or three rounds we audited every car and found no evidence of that taking place.<\/p>\n
\u201cHowever, once everybody started talking about it, it became a topical subject about what people might do to actually achieve said things, even though nobody was doing said things.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo we thought we\u2019d nip it in the bud and make a tweak to the rules.\u201d<\/p>\n
The change was made ahead of Darwin and remained a talking point in the paddock in Townsville, where teams approached by Speedcafe praised Supercars for taking action.<\/p>\n
Manipulation of control parts and the exploiting of tolerances is an increasingly hot topic due to the locked-down nature of the Gen3 ruleset.<\/p>\n
