DICK Johnson<\/a> Racing executive chairman Ryan Story believes Triple Eight\u2019s recent struggles are a result of a knowledge deficit relating to the Gen3 Mustang package.<\/p>\n

The last two rounds have been largely dominated by the Blue Oval\u2019s Matt Payne<\/a>, Kai Allen<\/a> (both Grove Racing), Cam Waters<\/a> (Tickford Racing) and Brodie Kostecki<\/a> (DJR), while new Ford homologation team Triple Eight has gone podium-less.<\/p>\n

Grove, Tickford and DJR have all been with Ford for years now \u2013 albeit the latter did somewhat start over last season \u2013 while Triple Eight only switched from General Motors in the 2025\/26 summer.<\/p>\n

\u201cFundamentally they\u2019re still learning that package,\u201d Story said via the PG and The Doc<\/a> show he co-hosts.<\/p>\n
