TRACK position is king in Supercars\u2026 but it\u2019s not everything.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s the takeaway from a rare ongoing streak whereby in six successive races the pole-sitter has failed to take victory.<\/p>\n

That stretch encompasses the full Darwin and Townsville race weekends, during which time three poles apiece have gone to Brodie Kostecki<\/a> and Cam Waters<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Race wins meanwhile have been split between Waters (twice, from fourth and second), Kai Allen<\/a> (from fifth), Anton De Pasquale<\/a> (from third), Matt Payne<\/a> (from second) and Kostecki (from second).<\/p>\n

THE Undercut is back for another week, breaking down the latest news in the world of Supercars racing!<\/p>\n

The last time this happened six times in a row covered the final two races of the Gen2 era (Adelaide 2022) and the first four in Gen3 (Newcastle, Albert Park 2023).<\/p>\n

As for the last time the streak reached seven? You have to go a decade back to the 2016 season (Townsville Race 2, Ipswich, Sydney Motorsport Park, Sandown and Bathurst).<\/p>\n

If the pole-sitter wins neither Saturday race at the upcoming Perth Super440, that will make for eight on the trot \u2013 something that\u2019s not been seen since a nine-race span in 2014 (Darwin Race 3, Townsville, Ipswich, SMP Races 1 and 2).<\/p>\n

It\u2019s worth noting however that Wanneroo Raceway has been kind to the driver starting first, with eight of the last 10 Supercars races there won by the pole-sitter.<\/p>\n

The 2026 Bosch Power Tools Perth Super440 will be held July 31-August 2, taking in a total of three main game races.<\/p>\n
