Rodgers is coming off two frustrating seasons with the Jets, and some of his new teammates made some rather disparaging comments about the future Hall of Famer.<\/p>\n<p>These teammates include safety DeShon Elliott, who said that they should \u201cleave his ass in the retirement home.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/thecomeback.com\/nfl\/pittsburgh-steelers-deshon-elliott-apologizes-aaron-rodgers.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Elliott cleared the air shortly after Rodgers initially signed with the team.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m a troll. He\u2019s an All-Pro and he\u2019s a GOAT. He\u2019s going to be a gold jacket guy one day. Honestly, when he got here, we communicated, we talked, he\u2019s a great person and a great football player, so whoever the media\u2019s put out there is B.S.,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI respect him a lot. I told him that I respect him, and I apologized to him for the things I was saying about him. Honestly, he\u2019s a great man and he has a great heart, so I appreciate him and he\u2019s funny as hell.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Now, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Blitz_Burgh\/status\/1957815124699349378\" rel=\"nofollow\">Rodgers is addressing things himself with regard to what was said about him in the past.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, I think there\u2019s a great quote in a TV show that I enjoyed called Ted Lasso. Ted talks about one of his favorite quotes: be curious, not judgmental. And I think that\u2019s kind of how I wanted to approach this season and anybody that said anything, I try and put myself in their shoes as much as possible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I respect the hell outta you and what you\u2019ve accomplished in the game and your leadership from afar, it seems like you\u2019re the type of leader that I\u2019d wanna play with. So when you said that I didn\u2019t take offense to that at all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fans reacted to Rodgers\u2019 words on social media.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is reason #1 I didn\u2019t want them to sign Rodgers. All the news and attention is about him. Report on the dumbest stuff because it AR,\u201d one fan wrote on Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI really think he could have a good year if we get another receiver,\u201d one fan added.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019ll be interesting to see if Rodgers\u2019 mature approach pays dividends for the Steelers this season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Pittsburgh Steelers have a new quarterback this season in four-time MVP winner Aaron Rodgers.
