Seru Uru has been praised for his \u201cimpact\u201d at the Reds after Queensland confirmed the departures of both the versatile forward and flyhalf Ben Volavola.<\/p>\n

Uru, who made 78 appearances for the Reds across seven seasons and was part of the Queensland squad that won the Super Rugby AU title in 2021, has signed with Paris-based French Top 14 outfit Racing 92.<\/p>\n

Volavola, 35, will join Queensland\u2019s Super Rugby Pacific rivals Fijian Drua as he targets selection in Fiji\u2019s squad for next year\u2019s Rugby World Cup.<\/p>\n

Reds general manager of high performance Sam Cordingley acknowledged the contributions of 29-year-old Uru and Volavola.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeru made an important impact over a lengthy period at the club,\u201d Cordingley said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBen brought his professionalism to the Reds to make a positive mark during his single season. <\/p>\n

\u201cBoth embark on the next stages of their careers with our good wishes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Uru, who was used as a back-rower and a lock by Queensland, said the Reds would \u201calways be an important part\u201d of his life.<\/p>\n

\u201cI started my professional rugby journey at Ballymore and have always called it home,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have built great friendships at the Reds.\u201d<\/p>\n

The departures of Uru and Volavola come after last month\u2019s confirmation that hooker Richie Asiata, flyhalf Harry McLaughlin-Phillips, prop Jeffery Toomaga-Allen, halfback Louis Werchon and winger Heremaia Murray would also be parting ways with the Reds.<\/p>\n

Centre Josh Flook has also left to join Italian club Benetton Treviso, while fullback Jock Campbell and centre Hunter Paisami \u2013 both in the current Wallabies squad \u2013 are set for moves to Japanese clubs.<\/p>\n

The Reds\u2019 new signings include centre Izaia Perese and lock Cadeyrn Neville.<\/p>\n
