We respect their decisions and understand that, with such a demanding schedule, players\u2019 health must remain the priority,\u201d said Val\u00e9rie T\u00e9treault, Tournament Director of the National Bank Open presented by Rogers in Montr\u00e9al. \u201cThat said, we believe the frequency of these last-minute withdrawals in the last few years raises a broader issue for our sport. Masters 1000 events are among the flagship tournaments on the tour, and fans rightfully expect to see the world\u2019s best compete. We are already in discussions with the ATP to ensure this matter receives serious consideration. We firmly believe adjustments are needed in the near future to better protect the integrity of our Masters 1000 events while remaining mindful of the realities players face.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 12-day, 96-player event will feature 2017 champion Alexander Zverev as its top seed. Gael Monfils and Gabriel Diallo have already been awarded main draw wild cards.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The main draw will feature four former champions who have previously lifted the trophy in Canada: defending champion and World No. 5 Ben Shelton (2025); Daniil Medvedev (2021); and Pablo Carre\u00f1o Busta (2022).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Chris Oddo.
