PIES PROVIDE POSITIVE MAYNARD UPDATE<\/p>\n

Collingwood vice-captain Brayden Maynard has avoided structural damage after he suffered a knee knock against Adelaide on Thursday night<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The Magpies on Saturday confirmed scans cleared Maynard of serious injury to his left knee, with the gun defender to be assessed ahead of next week\u2019s clash with Geelong.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s sigh of relief for Craig McRae\u2019s side coming off a sixth-straight win that has the Pies in touch with the top four.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaynard sustained a knock to his left knee during Thursday night\u2019s game against the Adelaide Crows,\u201d Collingwood said in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cScans have cleared the defender of any structural damage, and Maynard will be assessed further during the week with the club to communicate a return to play timeline in due course.\u201d<\/p>\n

It comes while the Pies already grapple with the absences of some key stars including season-ending setbacks to skipper Darcy Moore (hamstring) and Jamie Elliott (ACL).<\/p>\n

SCOTT READY TO \u2018HAVE IT OUT\u2019 WITH LYON ON AFL 360<\/p>\n

Chris Scott is ready to \u201chave it out\u201d with Ross Lyon on Fox Footy\u2019s AFL 360 on Monday night.<\/p>\n

The Geelong coach responded to a cheeky jibe from Lyon regarding Bailey Smith after last week\u2019s matchup with Marcus Windhager.<\/p>\n

Lyon on Friday hit back<\/a> at Smith\u2019s suggestions that the Saints should release Windhager from tagging roles.<\/p>\n

\u201cBailey was running rampant with no one on him, then \u2018Windy\u2019 put him to sleep,\u201d Lyon said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe horse trying hardest in the race is self interest, right?<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean Bailey often talks without thinking, doesn\u2019t he? At least he\u2019s not sending emojis out on text this time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Scott after Geelong\u2019s win over Melbourne on Friday night<\/a> returned serve to his Saints counterpart.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s got nothing, if not a sharp tongue, Ross. That\u2019s why I find him so entertaining,\u201d Scott said.<\/p>\n
