He\u2019s known as \u201cReece Lightning\u201d \u2013 but Reece Walsh<\/a> may have had the lightning belted out of him.<\/p>\n

The Broncos<\/a> superstar was put flat on his back by a rampaging Braidon Burns on the stroke of half-time on Saturday night, when the Cowboys<\/a> flyer surged in off the right wing and ran at Walsh like a bull at a gate.<\/p>\n

Reece Walsh is flattened.\u00a0Fox League.<\/p>\n

Burns linked up with Jake Clifford and the Cowboys five-eighth did the rest, racing away to extend North Queensland\u2019s lead in Townsville.<\/p>\n

\u201cGee, that\u2019s a statement there,\u201d Michael Ennis<\/a> said on Fox League.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the first half, won by North Queensland 14-4, Walsh had been smashed by Queensland State of Origin teammate Reuben Cotter.<\/p>\n

The Broncos fullback fielded a kick on the full and made a slight turn as he did so \u2013 and the Cowboys enforcer thumped into his back.<\/p>\n

The 2025 Clive Churchill Medallist got up grimacing and clutching at his back.<\/p>\n

Importantly, though, neither of the heavy blows \u2013 the Cotter hit or Burns\u2019 railroading run \u2013 forced Walsh off the field.<\/p>\n
