United Kingdom gymnast \u200cGabriel Langton was conscious and speaking with doctors after \u2060being taken \u2060to hospital following a heavy fall during the men\u2019s team gymnastics final at the Commonwealth Games, team officials said.<\/p>\n
The 19-year-old crashed headfirst to the floor on Friday after he came off the horizontal bar in the \u2060final rotation of the competition, prompting a lengthy halt as medical personnel rushed to his aid.<\/p>\n

Langton received treatment on the competition floor for several minutes before being placed on a stretcher, fitted \u200cwith head and neck support and taken from the arena to hospital for further assessment.<\/p>\n
Langton was conscious, moving and speaking with doctors, team officials said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are grateful to the medical teams who responded immediately to provide assistance,\u201d Team England said in a statement.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe has been taken \u2060to hospital and we will share more \u2060information when it is available.\u201d<\/p>\n
The incident cast a shadow over the remainder of the competition, with England settling for silver behind Canada after action resumed.<\/p>\n
Australia \u2060claimed bronze, securing their first men\u2019s team gymnastics medal since winning gold at the \u20602010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.<\/p>\n
