The Roosters have locked down a key member of their spine in the future, handing rising star Hugo Savala a fresh contract.<\/p>\n

After a breakout season in 2025, Savala opted to stay at the Tricolours despite the arrival of veteran playmaker Daly Cherry-Evans blocking his path to regular halves starting minutes.<\/p>\n

Cherry-Evans is yet to make a call on his playing future and could remain Sam Walker\u2019s halves partner next season, but Savala looms as their long-term option.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old\u2019s two-year extension was announced on Sunday, keeping him at the Roosters until the end of the 2028 season.<\/p>\n

The versatile star has also proven his value this season, finding form in the centres before being shuffled back to the bench in their win over the Knights in Round 21.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Sydney Roosters mean a lot to me,\u201d Savala said in a club statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cI came through the junior reps here and I\u2019ve always dreamed of making a career at this club, so I\u2019m really happy to be staying.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve got such a close group and I love being part of it. Everyone genuinely wants the best for each other, and I just want to keep improving, keep learning from Robbo and the senior players around me, and do whatever the team needs. <\/p>\n
