Cody Simpson<\/a> is still on the road to recovery after sharing yet another major update on his vocal cord surgery journey<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The singer, 29, has been on vocal rest since discovering a \u201cserious haemorrhage\u201d<\/a> on one of his vocal cords in May, and he is counting down the days until he returns to his music. <\/p>\n

Cody Simpson has revealed his healing is on track and he hopes to be singing again in six to eight weeks. \u00a0Instagram\/@codysimpson<\/p>\n

\u201cUpdates. Healing on track. Learning painfully acquired yet beautiful patience and true solitude,\u201d Simpson wrote on his Instagram stories<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cTwo more weeks of vocal rest and then I can start building back incrementally with my vocal coach. <\/p>\n

\u201cHopefully singing like Susan Boyle in about 6 – 8 weeks. Will let you see my face today. Till next time.\u201d <\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a long few months of recovery for Simpson who first shared news of his vocal cord injury back in May<\/a> \u2013 and has been on and off vocal rest since. <\/p>\n

It came just weeks after he made a triumphant return to music<\/a> with two new singles,\u00a0Baby Blue\u00a0and\u00a0When It Comes to Loving You.<\/p>\n

The swimming champion and returned singer said the injury occurred \u201cdue to [his] overzealousness in the studio singing through a sinus infection\u201d he \u201cdidn\u2019t know\u201d he had.<\/p>\n

\u201cI assumed it was just fatigue and kept showing up to the studio until one day I could no longer sing properly,\u201d he revealed at the time.<\/p>\n

Cody Simpson\u2019s vocal injury came just weeks after his return to music back in May.\u00a0Instagram\/@codysimpson<\/p>\n

Simpson added that his injury has impacted his ability to complete his upcoming album and polish up his latest singles.<\/p>\n

On May 19, Simpson revealed the haemorrhage was now gone<\/a>, but he was not out of the woods, as there was a \u201cbig damaged blood vessel on the underside of my right vocal cord\u201d.<\/p>\n

Simpson was hit with another health blow in late June after dislocating his knee<\/a> while rehearsing for a music video. <\/p>\n

The Aussie star dislocated his knee in June, which has pushed his vocal cord surgery back. \u00a0Instagram\/@codysimpson<\/p>\n

The injury left the singer in crutches, on top of being on and off vocal rest for close to three months. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe universe is serving it to me this year!\u201d\u00a0he said at the time. <\/p>\n
