For Tszyu, the win over Spence meant a lot, having previously dropped three consecutive world title bouts.<\/p>\n
The 32-year-old needed a victory over a top name to catapult him back into the big fights and worldwide fame that he once seemed destined for. <\/p>\n
It also marked the end of a turbulent chapter that tested his confidence, resilience and future in the sport of boxing.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s been a rollercoaster ride,\u201d he told the Main Event panel following Sunday\u2019s fight.<\/p>\n

When asked how bad things got, Tszyu said it was much tougher than he expected it to be.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was dark,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt wasn\u2019t just the losses but everything that was happening [in my life].<\/p>\n
\u201cI just want to be the definition of resilience. I had a lot of sleepless nights. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt was one hell of a ride. <\/p>\n
\u201cI woke up at 4am last night. Nerves. Usually I have a full night of sleep.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis fight was something different.\u201d<\/p>\n

When pressed on what the mental battle was like, Tszyu said it was as tough as the one between the ropes.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a fight in itself,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m proud of myself. I got through it, and kept fighting on. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe doubts always come. The fact this could have been it. <\/p>\n
\u201cWhat am I gonna do after this? I\u2019m only 32 years young?! What am I gonna do?\u201d<\/p>\n
The former WBO junior middleweight champ overpowered Spence for long periods of the fight, in what was the American\u2019s first appearance in the ring in nearly three years.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy reaction and speed was the difference,\u201d Tszyu said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt felt like he was punching in one gear. <\/p>\n
\u201cI had a tight guard and could see his punches coming.\u201d<\/p>\n

No Limit boss George Rose, who had lost his voice by the end of the fight, said he\u2019d like Tszyu to fight for a world title against champion Erislandy Lara. <\/p>\n
\u201cI think the Lara fight should be next,\u201d said Rose.<\/p>\n
\u201cId love to make it happen here in Sydney or in Australia in general.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think he\u2019s ready for it. If he believes he can do it, I do too.<\/p>\n
