The Sea Eagles were one of the best stories of the 2026 season as they rebounded from an 0-3 start under Anthony Seibold to win four-straight games and surge into finals contention.<\/p>\n
In fact, the top four was a genuine chance entering the bye after Round 14 but Manly has since dropped five of its last six games to fall out of the top eight entirely.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were confident heading into this game,\u201d Foran said in his post-game press conference. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe saw it as a great opportunity to not only put on a great performance on Old Boys Day here in front of our home fans on a Sunday afternoon, but we saw it as an opportunity to get our season back on track and we just didn\u2019t fire a shot. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s disappointing. They (the Old Boys) would have really expected a big performance from us today and I know our guys didn\u2019t go out there wanting to put in that sort of performance. <\/p>\n
\u201cI know that for sure. I know that they had every intention to go out there and fight their way to a victory and make the Old Boys proud and do their teammates proud, but it just went wrong for us. <\/p>\n

The Sea Eagles had been one of the best defensive sides in the competition under Foran when he first took over but have since conceded 86 points in their past two losses. <\/p>\n
Foran conceded his team is \u201clow on confidence\u201d but welcomed the bye week, which will both allow his playing group to \u201cfreshen up\u201d and give him time to see where things have gone wrong.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve got to go away now. We\u2019ve got the bye, we\u2019ll give the boys a few days off to really freshen up and get away and just reset and then we\u2019ll come back in and we\u2019ll set some goals on where we want to head for these five remaining games,\u201d Foran added.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ll say one thing \u2014 we\u2019re not done with yet. We know where we want to go and where we want to head this season and we won\u2019t be backing down from that.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve got to find out where it\u2019s going wrong and why it\u2019s going wrong and then we\u2019ve got to fix it. That\u2019s my job to work that out and get to the bottom of why we\u2019re lacking that cohesion and confidence in our footy at the moment.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ll spend some time over the bye figuring that out. <\/p>\n
