The St George Illawarra Dragon can confirm that Nathan Lawson has been granted an immediate release from the club to pursue an opportunity in Rugby Sevens.<\/p>\n
Lawson joined the Dragons on a development deal in 2025 having made a name for himself as one of the nation’s premier Rugby Sevens stars and moved into the club\u2019s Top 30 for this season.<\/p>\n
His NRL debut came in Round 13 last year in a win over Newcastle at St George Venues Jubilee Stadium before he nabbed his maiden four-pointer in the side\u2019s Round 17 win over Parramatta.<\/p>\n
He would go on to make four appearances for the club scoring two tries and played an integral role in the club\u2019s Knock-On Effect NSW Cup campaign a year ago before having his season cut short by injury.<\/p>\n
