What\u2019s better than one Pritchard? Two. Australian rugby <\/a>is celebrating the retention of the brothers, with Queensland Reds<\/a> young gun Treyvon and ACT Brumbies <\/a>centre Kadin signing contract extensions.<\/p>\n

After The Sydney Morning Herald on Sunday broke the news that Treyvon had turned down approaches from the PNG Chiefs<\/a> and Sydney Roosters<\/a> and was staying put at the Reds, nine.com.au can reveal that Kadin is also staying at the Brumbies. <\/p>\n

While the highly talented brothers were already contracted through until the end of 2027, such was the demand for the pair that they agreed to terms to stay well before the end of their current deals.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s believed Treyvon, 19, will stay at the Reds until the end of 2029 while Kadin, 21, will remain at the Brumbies until the end of 2030. The only thing left for the duo to do is sign on the dotted line.<\/p>\n

The news comes just days after Rugby Australia CEO Phil Waugh said he was keen to keep the boom teenager.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese are all opportunities rugby can offer that other sports can\u2019t,\u201d Waugh told AAPlast week.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a generational talent, we\u2019re very keen to secure him in our game for as long as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

After starring at schoolboy level, Treyvon Pritchard instantly lit up Super Rugby<\/a> in his rookie season for the Reds.<\/p>\n

Capable of playing anywhere from fullback to fly-half, Pritchard, who starred for the Australian under-20s side recently at inside centre, is poised to wear the No.15 jersey for the Reds next year with Test fullback Jock Campbell expected to head overseas.<\/p>\n

But most believe that he will eventually move closer to the ball-playing roles at inside centre and fly-half when his physique fills out.<\/p>\n

Capable of flying down the wing like fellow young gun Max Jorgensen<\/a>, Pritchard arguably has the best footwork of any teenager star since James O\u2019Connor<\/a> burst on the scene in 2008.<\/p>\n

The teenager only started three times for the Reds under Les Kiss<\/a> in 2026, but the new Wallabies boss had no issue regularly deploying the fleet-footed flyer off the bench, where he produced a number of eye-catching performances, including against the Chiefs where he stood up All Blacks<\/a> star Damian McKenzie to score down the left-hand touchline.<\/p>\n

He then lit up the under-20s world championship, regularly going viral for his freakish play.<\/p>\n

Indeed, the flyer made several French defenders look silly in a stunning individual run where he also showed his ball skills by hitting a teammate on the chest with a quality left-to-right pass.<\/p>\n

But his campaign was cruelled when he was the victim of an NRL<\/a>-style hip-drop that saw him break his leg and suffer an ankle syndesmosis injury. The injury led to Reds general manager Sam Cordingley calling for World Rugby to update their laws to ban the dangerous tackle immediately.<\/p>\n

Despite the injury setback, Rugby Australia didn\u2019t hesitate in going all-in and extending his time at the Reds.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unlikely he will be fit to feature for Australia A\u2019s two-game tour in the USA in October. Given the severity of the injury, even November\u2019s Spring Tour could be a stretch.<\/p>\n

Pritchard\u2019s retention is a smart piece of business by Rugby Australia, with the back viewed as a generational talent.<\/p>\n

As part of the reworked deal, it\u2019s understood he will be permitted to make a play to feature at the 2028 LA Olympics<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While Treyvon is unlikely to feature again this year, Kadin, the 191cm midfielder certainly could.<\/p>\n

The outside centre enjoyed his own breakout season in 2026, filling the big shoes vacated by Len Ikitau and becoming a mainstay at the Brumbies.<\/p>\n

Although his season somewhat fizzled out, his promise led to the midfielder being included on Joe Schmidt<\/a>\u2019s unavailability list for the July Tests.<\/p>\n

He is expected to be included in the Australia A squad to play the USA Eagles.<\/p>\n

And with Ikitau returning to the Brumbies for 2027 and in contract negotiations to extend his time in Canberra beyond next season in the nation\u2019s capital, the pair could form the Super Rugby franchise\u2019s midfield pairing for years to come.<\/p>\n
