Pop star Katy Perry<\/a> has hit back at US President Donald Trump for\u00a0using one of her hit songs in a video showing footage of military strikes.<\/p>\n

On Friday, the Trump administration<\/a> posted a clip on the White House\u2019s official TikTok account that featured missiles exploding.<\/p>\n

The post described as a \u201cdisgrace\u201d was set to Perry\u2019s 2010 hit song Firework and used her infamous lyrics \u201cboom, boom, boom\u201d. <\/p>\n

\u201cIran has been warned,\u201d the video\u2019s caption read.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am deeply appalled and angry to see \u2018Firework\u2019 used on the @WhiteHouse TikTok account as a backing track for video footage of military strikes,\u201d Perry posted on X. <\/p>\n

\u201cI did not approve this, I was not asked and I absolutely do not condone it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Perry said she wrote the song to give people \u201chope, healing and inner strength\u201d during their darkest days. <\/p>\n

\u201cTo see a message of self-worth and upliftment weaponised to soundtrack destruction and violence is a complete violation of everything my song stands for,\u201d Perry continued. <\/p>\n

\u201cMy music is for bringing people together, not celebrating warfare.\u201d<\/p>\n

Perry joins many other musicians<\/a> \u2014 including C\u00e9line Dion, Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter and Radiohead \u2014 who have told the Trump administration to stop using their music on social media since the beginning of the president\u2019s second term.<\/p>\n

Singer Sabrina Carpenter<\/a> slammed Trump\u00a0in December last year for using her song in what she called an \u201cevil and disgusting\u201d video.<\/p>\n

The Trump administration posted a TikTok showing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers detaining people during raids across America.<\/p>\n

But the footage was set to Carpenter\u2019s 2024 hit song Juno, prompting the pop star to fire back and condemn the use of her music in the clip.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis video is evil and disgusting,\u201d\u00a0Carpenter\u00a0wrote on X at the time. <\/p>\n

\u201cDo not ever involve me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n
