Leeds United are close to agreeing a club-record deal with Manchester City for goalkeeper James Trafford. <\/p>\n

Sky Sports News understands that the proposed transfer for the England international is understood to be worth at least \u00a340m plus add-ons, which is a record for an English goalkeeper.<\/p>\n

Leeds’ previous record-signing was Georginio Rutter from Hoffenheim for around \u00a335.5m in January 2023.<\/p>\n

Finding a new first-choice goalkeeper is a priority for Leeds this summer after Karl Darlow’s exit and an unconvincing debut season for Lucas Perri.<\/p>\n

Perri, who was dropped by boss Daniel Farke last season, and third-choice Alex Cairns are the only senior goalkeepers currently on Leeds’ books.<\/p>\n

There is the potential for Perri to depart this summer amid interest from Torino.<\/p>\n

However, Leeds are unwilling to part with the Brazilian until they have brought in at least one goalkeeper.<\/p>\n
