Ben Powers is taking a pay cut ahead of the 2026 NFL season.<\/p>\n
Powers, who has one year remaining on his contract with the Denver Broncos<\/a>, has agreed to restructure his deal with “less pay but more of it guaranteed,” according to a report from KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis<\/a>. Before the pay cut, Powers was set to earn about $13 million in 2026, but it wasn’t guaranteed if he didn’t make the 53-man roster.<\/p>\n Powers now has more security with guaranteed pay, and the Broncos<\/a> will get some salary cap relief after the guard agreed to lower his salary. Exact details of his restructured deal are not yet known.<\/p>\n Klis also reported that Powers suffered a Lisfranc injury in his first game back from a biceps injury in mid-December. Powers played through the foot injury for two more regular season games and two postseason games before undergoing offseason surgery.<\/p>\n Powers was sidelined for nine games last season, and Alex Palczewski filled in for him. After stepping up last fall, Palczewski will likely push Powers for the starting left guard spot this summer.<\/p>\n Need a news break?
