Veteran goaltender Michael Hutchinson announced his retirement on Monday after 11 seasons in the NHL.<\/p>\n
Hutchinson, 36, last appeared on the ice for Saipa of Liiga in Finland during the 2024-25 campaign, going 7-9-6 with a 3.02 goals-against average and an .886 save percentage.<\/p>\n
He last appeared in the NHL with the Detroit Red Wings<\/a> during the 2023-24 season, only appearing in one game.<\/p>\n Drafted 77th overall by the Boston Bruins<\/a> in 2008, Hutchinson has a career 57-62-18 record split between the Winnipeg Jets<\/a>, Florida Panthers<\/a>, Toronto Maple Leafs<\/a>, Colorado Avalanche<\/a>, Columbus Blue Jackets<\/a>, and Red Wings.<\/p>\n The 6-foot-3 netminder began his career with the Jets, playing five seasons in the organization going 43-39-11 with a .910 save percentage and 2.65 GAA.<\/p>\n His best season came during his second season in Winnipeg during the 2014-15 campaign where he registered a 21-10-5 record with a .914 save percentage and 2.38 GAA.<\/p>\n Hutchinson also played four seasons in Toronto, registering a 25-10-15 record with an .898 save percentage and 3.18 GAA.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Veteran goaltender Michael Hutchinson announced his retirement on Monday after 11 seasons in the NHL.
