After a false start, the Battle of Ohio is back on when the Cincinnati Reds host the Cleveland Guardians with a doubleheader on Tuesday. This series was supposed to start on Monday, but the game was rained out. It will be made up in the first game of this doubleheader that will start at 1:40 p.m. ET. Then the regularly scheduled Game 2 will start at 7:10 on Tuesday night. The season-series finale will be played on Wednesday, with the Guardians coming into this series with a 2-1 lead, having played back in Cleveland in the middle of May. These teams are trending in opposite directions heading into this Ohio interleague rivalry series. Cleveland is trying to end a five-game losing streak today. The Guardians are also trying to stay above .500 with a 54-53 record and a 27-27 road record. Cleveland has slipped to second place in the AL Central standings, two games behind the Chicago White Sox. The Reds are climbing their way back to .500, winning four of their last five games. Cincinnati is still last in the NL Central, though, with a 49-55 record and a 22-28 mark at home. The Reds will be a big -168 favorite in both games today at home. For the first game, Cleveland will start Slade Cecconi, who is 4-7 with a 4.60 ERA in 103.2 innings, while Cincinnati will start Chase Burns. The righty is having a phenomenal season with a 12-1 record and a 2.42 ERA in 107.2 innings, which was good enough to give him his first All-Star bid. Cleveland will have the pitching advantage in Game 2 by starting Gavin Williams, who is 10-5 with a 3.78 ERA in 126.1 innings. The Reds will counter with Brady Singer, who is 5-9 with a 4.53 ERA in 103.1 innings. <\/p>\n
