Brady claims the most recent offer was a headlining spot for the upcoming UFC Vancouver card but instead the promotion went with Reinier de Ridder vs. Anthony Hernandez instead.<\/p>\nBrady says that fight is happening because his proposed bout against Garry never came together.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo I got a call from my manager right around International Fight week, so at the end of June timeframe about me and Ian fighting in Chicago [at UFC 319],\u201d Brady revealed. \u201cI said yes. Didn\u2019t hear anything for weeks. I\u2019m assuming the UFC moved on. Recently, they hit us up and said me and Ian, main event in Vancouver. I said yes immediately. Yes, let\u2019s go. I\u2019ve been wanting to fight since May and these are the only ones I\u2019ve been offered. I said yes twice.<\/p>\n

Brady last fought in March when he submitted former welterweight champion Leon Edwards in an impressive showing to notch his third win in a row overall. Following that fight, Brady initially hoped a title shot could be next but he remained willing to face another top ranked fighter to secure his place in a championship fight.<\/p>\n
It appears the UFC had similar designs after Garry scored an impressive win of his own after outdueling Carlos Prates in his most recent fight.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, it looks like the UFC\u2019s plans came and went without actually booking Brady against Garry in a potential No. 1 contender\u2019s bout.<\/p>\n
