The populist rightwing party has dipped back to where it was in April. It comes after weeks of scrutiny over Pauline Hanson’s European trip, her interview with Tommy Robinson, and comments about domestic violence and immigration policy.

Struggling for political oxygen and attention amid One Nation’s rise, the opposition leader has seen his own approval ratings plummet in the last month. In June, 36% of people approved of Taylor’s job performance and 37% disapproved, for a net approval of minus one; but this month’s poll has seen his approvals drop three points and his disapprovals increase by seven points, for a new net approval of minus 12.

Taylor’s approval rating has crashed 16 points among men and four points among women, as well as by 20 points among people aged 35 to 54 and 13 points among those aged 18 to 34.

Anthony Albanese’s approval rating ticked up one point to minus 14, with 38% approving and 52% disapproving of his performance as prime minister.
