Many people assume there\u2019s not much living in the waters off the coast of England, but the ocean is full of surprising marine life, even in the UK.\u00a0<\/p>\n
You never know what you might see in our waters, something brought to life in a recent video shared by a boat skipper who came across two sunfish<\/a> in the shipping lanes off the coast of Sussex.<\/p>\n \u201cI was out drifting for bass and bream on a wreck this weekend when I spotted two\u00a0sunfish\u00a0right off Sussex, out in the shipping lanes,\u201d says Kurt Lander, skipper of the charter boat\u00a0Yellowfin<\/a>\u00a0in Brighton.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Sunfish are, arguably, the weirdest-looking fish on the planet<\/a>. These large fish are round and flat like a pancake with a pair of fins that flap above the water when they swim at the surface.\u00a0<\/p>\n The two sunfish were flopping around in the water, lying on their side right at the surface surrounded by seabirds<\/a>.<\/p>\n “Look at that, 5ft from the boat,” says Lander, as he films the two sunfish of the coast of Brighton, England.
