There are still multiple Formula 1 seats up for grabs as teams prepare for the second half of the 24-race season.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a feisty drivers\u2019 championship<\/a> battle to solve and 10 more events to go before the curtain is drawn on the current era.<\/p>\n

The 2026 F1 regulations<\/a> have been the talk of the paddock for years, and the introduction of a new team for next season means that there are now two more seats up for grabs than usual.<\/p>\n

Cadillac<\/a> are in the process of identifying who they want behind the wheel of their first Formula 1<\/a> car, with many names linked to the gig already.<\/p>\n

However, Cadillac bosses are \u2018moaning\u2019 at suggestions<\/a> that they had already signed ex-Red Bull driver Sergio Perez to a seat.<\/p>\n

James Hinchcliffe has his fingers crossed that Perez gets a seat<\/a>, but that would still leave one vacancy alongside him. The more experience in that cockpit, the more the team can learn early on.<\/p>\n

Cadillac now see a \u2018perfect\u2019 F1 driver<\/a> choice in Mick Schumacher, but he hasn\u2019t been on the grid for nearly three years.<\/p>\n

He has been racing in other categories, so he should be fresh, but only has two seasons of Formula 1 experience under his belt.<\/p>\n

Schumacher is very confident of landing the second Cadillac seat<\/a> but he\u2019s going to face competition from others, who may have a few months to prove themselves yet.<\/p>\n

Valtteri Bottas is another name who has been thrown around, and he\u2019s a 10-time race winner with knowledge of a title-winning operation. Would he demand a wage too great for them?<\/p>\n

According to RacingNews365<\/a>, Aston Martin reserve driver Felipe Drugovich is still hoping for a \u2018miracle\u2019 to land one of Cadillac\u2019s seats.<\/p>\n

Current colleague Fernando Alonso called him \u2018incredible\u2019 according to RacingNews365<\/a> just a few weeks ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has an incredible talent, Formula 2 was a demonstration,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

What has Felipe Drugovich achieved outside of Formula 1?<\/p>\n

Drugovich has been one of the more unlucky Formula 2 champions in recent years to have not received a full-time promotion to Formula 1.<\/p>\n

He spent two races in Formula E last season, but also competed for Cadillac at the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans.<\/p>\n

He joined Aston Martin\u2019s development team back in 2022 when it was newly formed, and was the first member signed to the programme.<\/p>\n
