Two young children have escaped a Melbourne<\/a> kindergarten and made their way home to watch cartoons on TV.<\/p>\n

The pair \u2014 aged four and five \u2014 were captured on CCTV hopping and skipping along St George\u2019s Rd in Fitzroy North about 11am on Monday.<\/p>\n

It is understood the boy and girl escaped from a playground at Isabel Henderson Kindergarten after removing part of a fence.\u00a0<\/p>\n

They were reportedly heading to one of the children\u2019s homes, more than 1km from the kindergarten.<\/p>\n

Their destination was to watch KPop Demon Hunters, the wildly popular animated Netflix<\/a> film.<\/p>\n

Concerned members of the public spotted the children walking alone and immediately called police, following them to ensure they remained safe.<\/p>\n

Remarkably, the young children knew exactly where to go and navigated the busy streets on their own.<\/p>\n

They eventually arrived at the family home, where relatives let them inside to watch television, unaware the children had wandered off from kindergarten.<\/p>\n

Isabel Henderson director Anna Tibb said the centre had launched an internal investigation into the incident.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is really devastating for the families involved and for us,\u201d Tibb said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are a very transparent and open organisation, and we take these things very seriously.\u201d<\/p>\n

The centre has since replaced the brush fencing where the children escaped with temporary fencing while the investigation continues.<\/p>\n

Authorities are now investigating the incident to determine how the children were able to leave the facility undetected.<\/p>\n
