We\u2019ve all got one, and some are bigger than others \u2014 but exactly who is the owner of Perth\u2019s most imposing nose?<\/p>\n
Triple M have begun their search for the city\u2019s \u201cbiggest schnoz,\u201d with a $400 bag of cash being dangled as bait to sniff out an eventual winner.<\/p>\n
Breakfast radio hosts Katie Lamb and Xavier Ellis put the call out last week, inviting proud listeners to come forward, or to stitch up their nasally impressive mates.<\/p>\n
However, a name that\u2019s remained atop the list in both public profile and size is none other than WA Liberal leader Basil Zempilas, who was invited into the studio for an official measurement.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are doing Perth\u2019s biggest schnoz, and I am about to measure Basil Zempilas\u2019 nose,\u201d Lamb said, before applying a measuring tape to the politician\u2019s face.<\/p>\n
First, the tape was wrapped from the base of his brow around the tip of the nose, before stretching further south to where the his nose meets his face again. A measurement of 7.4cm was recorded.<\/p>\n
Lamb followed with a lateral score, marked from the tip of Mr Zempilas\u2019 nose and across one nostril to measure 5.2cm.<\/p>\n
An aggregate figure of 12.6cm was recorded, and a clubhouse leader declared.<\/p>\n
\u201cHere\u2019s the benchmark for you,\u201d the politician said proudly.<\/p>\n
Earlier this week, Dockers forward and show regular Patrick Voss became a willing subject, scoring an \u201caverage Joe\u201d total measurement of 9cm.<\/p>\n
Channel 7 sports presenter Ryan Daniels also weighed in, offering his take on the \u201ctop 5 biggest AFL noses\u201d with a slight WA skew.<\/p>\n
He listed retired Kangaroos player and coach Brady Rawlings as number one on the list, with ex-Dockers Shaun McManus at two and Matthew Pavlich at three, modern star Marcus Bontempelli at four, and Eagles premiership player-turned-Sydney coach Dean Cox at five.<\/p>\n
